About Thiaguinho
Thiago André Barbosa, better known as Thiaguinho, is a Brazilian singer and composer famous for his soulful contributions to samba and pagode. Born in Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, on March 11, 1983, Thiaguinho showed an early talent for music, learning to play the cavaquinho at 14. His path to fame began in 2002 when he participated in the talent show “Fama” and quickly got people’s attention.
In 2003, Thiaguinho joined the legendary pagode group Exaltasamba, where he replaced the older singer Chrigor. Together with Péricles, they lead the group for almost a decade, recording many DVDs and gaining people’s heart for their charisma on the stage. He marked an era of Exaltasamba and Exaltasamba marked an era for him.
In 2012 Thiaguinho kept with his solo career by launching his debut album and live DVD “Ousadia & Alegria”. The album was a success, selling almost one hundred thousand copies and earning a Latin Grammy for Best Samba/Pagode Album. That encouraged him to continue his mixes, now adding MPB to his pagode hits, which was also very acclaimed by the whole nation.
Thiaguinho has become a major figure in Brazilian music and his successful albums, including the double-platinum “Hey, Mundo!” With the money earned from music, he founded his own music company, he also still haves a massive dedicated fanbase.

Thiago André Barbosa, known as Thiaguinho was born on March 11, 1983 in Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, but raised in Mato grosso do Sul. At 12 years old he was composing and already knew how to use a cavaquinho. At the age of 15 he founded the samba group, “Sabe Demais”, marking his first steps in a professional direction.
In 2002 he participated in the TV show “Fama on Rede Globo”, gaining national visibility. Right in the next year he joined Exaltasamba, replacing the previous vocalist Chrigor, with the group he recorded about five DVDs.
In 2012 Thiaguinho returned to his solo career, making the album and DVD “Ousadia & Alegria”, of which he made collaborations like Gilberto Gil and Ivete Sangalo. Two years later he hosted the TV show “Música Boa ao Vivo” on Multishow.
He created an event called “Tardezinha” where he and many other samba artists would perform and sing mainly classics of the samba/pagode music, this event went all across Brazil. He also focused on his company “Paz & Bem Entretenimento” and expanding his influence beyond just performing.
Thiaguinho continues to be a major figure in pagode and samba. He remains active and constantly recording and adapting his performances.
