About Chefin
Natanael Cauã Almeida de Souza, better known as Chefin, is a Brazilian rapper, singer, and songwriter who became a important part of the brazilian trap and funk. Born in Rio de Janeiro on September 14, 2004, his musical journey started in his childhood. Living in Vila Kennedy, he inherit his passion for funk from his grandmother, who encouraged him to record his first tracks. This encoragment would later on make him nationally and internationally know.
Chefin's fame came with the music "212," a hit that not only opened many doors for him, but also meant a transition from funk to trap. The song launched him to national recognition, reaching the fourth spot on the Billboard Brazil chart and reaching over 200 million streams across platforms. The success of "212" fixed his place in the music industry, and also opened a door to sign a contract with the producer Mainstreet Records. His celebrity name, "Chefin," was inspired by the animated movie The Boss Baby.
The rapper released loads of famous hits to continue on top, including "Deus É o Meu Guia" and "Historinha". An notable moment of his career was the remix of the song "2step" with British singer Ed Sheeran, which gave him international audience and admirers of his work. His ability to blend traditional Brazilian beats with contemporary trap beats created a different and vibing style, which brought a wide amount of new fans. In 2022, his talent was recognized when he won the "Trap na Cena" category at the MTV Millennial Awards.

Natanael Cauã Almeida de Souza, internationally know as Chefin, was born on September 14, 2004, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His childhood was lived in Vila Kennedy, a community located in the West Zone of Rio, It is know for it's cultural identity and music presence. Essentially raised by his grandmother, Chefin developed a love for music early on his childhood. She was the key forhis tatent, always encouraging his creativity and passion for singing. Around 2014, when he was about ten years old, he started to be really interested by music, influenced by the funk and rap hits that surrounded his neighborhood.
By 2016, at just twelve years old, Chefin had already started writing small funk verses. His grandmother, seeing how much he liked it, pushed him to take it seriously, she encouraged him to record his productions and even helped him to get in touch with small local producers. When the need of a artistic name came, he decided it would be “Chefin”, inspired by the animated movie The Boss Baby (O Poderoso Chefinho in Portuguese). This name would later become his artistic identity. Through this beggining of his career, he developed his skills, performing for friends and trying to blend different styles that mixed street funk and melodic rap.

Between 2019 and 2020, Chefin Started to put all his efforts on his artistic career. He started by singing in small independent producers and uploading his songs in the internet, gradually building a small fan base. At that time he began blending trap beats with funk carioca, making a unique sound that would define his style. His lyrics were mostly about the reality of life in Rio’s favelas, stories of struggle, dreams, and ambition. Even before reaching fame, he was already respected in the underground scene for his clever rhymes and maximum effort.
In 2021 - 2022 Chefin reached the top of his career. After releaseing several hits that went viral he made it to sign up with Mainstreet Records, one of Brazil's biggest producers, having contracts with people like Orochi, Borges and TZ da Coronel. He went viral again in 2022 after releasing a new album called "A Nova Era", The album counted with collabs with big names like Cabelinho, Poze do Rodo and Vulgo FK, Chefin also got international attention after appering in a remix of Ed sheeran's "2 step". On top of all these achivements he won the MTV Millennial Award in the category "Trap na Cena" being considered the best trap artist.
In 2023, Chefin released the album "O Mais Novo Romântico", a project focused on a melodic side of the artist, mixing the streets rap and romantic lyrics he was able to prove once again that he was not just one more artist but someone who came to revolutionize the trap industry. He became a simbol of resilience authenticity in between young brazilian people. He would often show up in the medias as someone who suceeded in life, celebrating his financial independency and purchasing luxury cars.
Until today Chefin is still considered one of the best trappers by many people, even tho he is younger than most part of trappers that have the same popularity as him he is always able to call international attention with innovating rythms and partnerships with other artists
